Dan Gearon


Dan has worked in senior safety management positions for more than 20 years. He is comfortable working with people from the shop floor to the boardroom. He has worked for tier one national and global organisations operating in high-risk, hostile environments. Dan has experience working in Australia Pacific, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.  He has spent years working away from home – 18 months in Abu Dhabi and several years in fly in fly out roles.

Dan commenced his career in the plumbing industry and has worked in the oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities, service and construction industries.

Dan’s qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management (VIOSH Ballarat University), a Master of Business Administration (Swinburne University) and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (Victoria University).

Dan is passionate about safety, he knows he can make a difference. He is experienced in behavioural safety, hazard identification, risk assessment and the implementation of effective and sustainable controls, management leadership mentoring, establishing and maintaining safety management systems, positive auditing (not focusing on gaps but identifying what is implemented well and looking for opportunities for improvement) and training.  He has a strong belief in just culture and the positive outcomes it brings.

Dan lives on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, gardening is one of his passions, as is riding the pushbike and following the mighty Hawthorn football club.
